SAMPLE!!!!!

this is my power point

the white and black i thought sort of reminded me of the dreary New England winters and that's why I used that color scheme, not because I was lazy and it was default

Would Socrates approve of WebQuests?

"He believed that learning came from within and that the best and most lasting way to bring latent knowledge to awareness was through the process of continual questioning and unconventional inquiry. For Socrates, answers were always steps on the way to deeper questions. (Cookson)"

Socrates put all emphasis on questioning and, thus, advancing through finding answers. I believed he'd approve of our advanced technology because it allows most people to find the answer to almost any question at Sonic-the-Hedgehog quick speed (I grow weary of the saying: lightning quick speed). Web Quests extension are just another of that ability.

Web Quest I Shall....ADAPT!

The Salem Witch Trials

http://www.geocities.com/webquestsonline/index.htm

I plan to rework the task because I do not find it engaging for students. The current assignment give every group of students (by which the class is divided) the exact same research project. This limits the learning to one area when the projects are presented and alo affords students the oppurtunity to do less work. Not to mention it's just boring, ecspecially with a subject with as much information such as the Salem Witch Trials. Under "Cognitive Level of Task" on the Web Quest Rubric the highest amount of points given is award to Web Quests that engage their students. This Web Quest, I believe, does not, but has the potential to. I will change the assignment to give each group a different research project. This will allow much more information to come across these students' desks.

1 – Poetry of War
Creative idea that allows students to express themselves and was well organized. As well as the dark color scheme with the powerful photographs set a great atmosphere for the subject-matter.
2 – Creative Encounters
Kid friendly, allowed for creativity, used pictures and avatars well.
3 – Landfill
Not well organized
4 – John Wilkes Booth
Not much multi-media
