Many schools see 'digital tools' as distractions. Most of these institutions are unwilling to work with there students to incorporate technology into the lessons. I believe it would benefiscial to do so in order to give students a basis of familiarity with their work. This would encourage more participation.

I think schools will become dangerously irrelevant if they don't start embracing the tools of our culture to teach and learn in meaningful ways. Motivating students to become active participants in school is a great reason to use social media in the classroom!
